Life goes on . . .

We're settling in, and life is getting back on track. The semester has already started, and I am taking another class towards my PhD. Yes, I'm crazy, but if I don't take this required course now, its not offered until fall of 2009. SO I have homework due tonight at midnight, and yes, I'm here talking to you!

So, was I really pregnant? I feel pretty much back to normal already, although I know the hormonal plunge is yet to happen, along with the hair loss, and what-not. But right now, its hard to believe that it all happened.

Breastfeeding is still touch and go . . . he doesn't latch on right away and starts to go a little crazy. This morning, he just wouldn't do it, and it had been so long since the last feeding, I had hubby give him an ounce of formula, while I pumped. I got 2-ounces for him (very proud here!) and he sucked it right down. Thankfully the next feeding went well at the breast. Its very nerve-wracking!

He has no clothes that fit! All the newborn stuff is so big on him! I am going to Buy Buy Baby tomorrow to get 2 things in the preemie size, just so he has something to wear for visitors. I know its a waste of money . . . that's why I'm using a credit!

OK, gotta do some homework, but here's a few new pics for you!

He look so alert and aware in the pic with his eyes wide open.

I've been meaning to ask..and I hope it's not too personal..but have you let the donor family know he's here?

Luann - nothing is too personal with me, LOL!! The donor family has been with us every step of the way. We emailed or spoke on the phone every 1-2 weeks.

When we sent one of the first born pics, the donor mom sent an eerily identical pic of her son at birth! He looked like Cooper, just 2 lbs heavier!

We hope to get together with them this fall, and at least once a year in the future. We're just seeing how this relationship grows!

I bought Itty two preemie outfits for church. He was able to wear them for almost a month - then it seemed like he skipped to 3-6 month size overnight!

Great pics! Thanks for posting! Now get back to your homework, young lady!

(You are one multi-tasking Mama!)

With Maddox, the Just Born size was a life saver! He was in preemie for a few days, then the just born size fit like a glove for a bit. I would try that. He didn't go into new born for a good 2 weeks or so.

The baby is gorgeous. You are gorgeous. I am so damn proud of you girl. I tear up looking at you and your son.

Maybe b/c I did a donor embie cycle, I feel so much emotion toward the donor couple. I just want to kiss them for helping you bring Cooper into the world!
