Giveaway #2!!!!
Since many posters on my other giveaway below mentioned they would like one for girls, I am offering up a handmade crochet baby sweater made by l'il old me! I sold a few of these at our local Women's Exchange a few years back for $35 each. I never got this one over to them, so I am offering it to one lucky blog reader! That's why it still has the tag on it.
It's baby green, so it could be gender neutral, but I think the style is a bit more feminine. In order to win, check around my blog and then come back and share how you have personally been touched by adoption (do you know someone who has adopted, was adopted, is thinking about adoption, etc). If you have never been touched by adoption, tell me that reading my blog has now made you "touched by adoption"!
Comments will be open until Sat Feb 2nd at 11:59pm, and I will randomly draw a winner Sunday morning. Good luck! And please, no double comments.
And be sure to check out all the other wonderful giveaways at the Bloggy Giveaway Carnival's main site! Just click on the pink button below . . .

Several couples that we know have adopted children~ one couple adopted a boy from Russia, one couple adopted a little girl, then a little boy, then the little boy's half-brother when he was born as well; and more recently we have met a couple that adopted 2 boys in the United States.
It's fantastic!!

Adoption is very close to my heart. My husband had an older sister who was adopted and sadly his parents didn't handle things the best as she got older and wished to know about her birth parents etc...It caused a lot of trouble and then tragicaly she was killed later on. DH was very bothered by it all and talks of one day adopting ourselves with the understanding that that conection is still important to the child...knowing where they came from etc.. We also have good friends who adopted the sweetest little boy from Russia. Oh he just melts my heart! I would love to be entered into this contest!
I have four adopted cousins! We are so happy and grateful for them!
I know several couples who have adopted. The want for a child is so incredible, and once they had their baby, every single couple...every single time said that their life was complete. Amazing!
how beautiful!
adoption? one of my dear friends has struggled with infertility for years and is just now beginning to consider adoption as an option. i've been researching it for her, and have been amazed at the generosity of adoptive parents, and the blessings that they are to so many children.
personally, i used to work with a little boy who was so incredibly scarred from years of abuse, and he was blessed with the most amazing adoptive mother that i have ever seen. her patience and never-ending love for this poor fragile, broken child brings tears to my eyes every time i think about her. God bless Amy.
that is fantastic! can't wait for the drawing! i've never personally experienced adoption, but i am touched by adoption every time i hear a great success story about it!
I know several friends of friends who have adopted, and some bloggy friends who've adopted, too! My favorite little friend is Joshua at http://poohbearsadventures.wordpress.com/
because he has Angelman Syndrome like my son has and he's just too cute!
Thank you for adding some thought to your giveaway!
Darling sweater! Several families in my church have adopted children, locally and internationally. My husband and I talk off and on about adopting some day. It's definitely something we're interested in.
my sister in law, Amy, was adopted! I'm so glad that she was loved by her adoptive partenst! She is set to give birth to her own little girl, Story, in June! This sweater would be perfect!
Friends of ours just adopted two older children I think from Ukraine. It has been an amazing experience for them. It is something we are thinking of doing. (adopting -- not necessarily out of country)
1. I just found out I was pregnant! God is good!
2. My father was adopted. I wrote about it on my blog post:
180 Flip. I often think about what could have been and am so so so thankful his birth mom made the decision she did. And even more thankful that a good family adopted my father, regardless of his disability, and raised him and loved him as their own.
this is so precious! what a great color you chose, too.
My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 8 mos or so now and we may just adopt. Thanks for sharing.
Hello, My husband's sister is adopted from when his dad served in Vietnam.

That is beautiful! I have been touched by adoption many ways. I am good friends with a family that has adopted three wild and crazy boys. It is crazy when you get my boys mixed in with hers at play dates.
I also just went to an enormous baby shower for a very good friend who just adopted two little boys (I guess there is a boy theme going on here lol). It was great to see so many people from church supporting her knowing that her and her husband had been wanting to have a family for so long.
Adoption is a topic close to my heart. Through adopting my daughter from China I appreciate how God adopted me as his chosen daughter. We are waiting for our second daughter from China.
Thanks for the giveaway and super question!
I have always wanted to adopt and now we will begin the process of foster-adopt through our county in August!
I'd really love to win this! It is beautiful.

Adoption makes me feel all teary because I think it is such an amazing thing. We have friends who have adopted, and may someday adopt some children of our own. Thank you for this site!
My best friend has adopted three children, two of who are siblings. The children were in foster care at first and my friend was their foster mother before she adopted them. They all three are such sweet children.
I know longer can have children due to risks. I pray that one day that God will open our doors to adopt.
Thanks for the giveaway!

My husband has four adopted brothers and sisters with various disabilities. Before I met him, I didn't personally know anyone with a disability, and when I began spending time with his family my viewpoint was definitely changed. It was always on Dan's heart to adopt children with disabilities, and now because of his family, it's on my heart as well!
Please enter me in your drawing... what a beautiful sweater!
Well you know I am touched daily by my beautiful son. And now I wait very patiently for my little princess. Would't this look so cute on her?
A girlfriend of mine adopted a little boy from India. What a difference they have made to his life.
I have an older sister whom was adopted out at birth then found us many years later

Ohhhh, how pretty! My family includes adopted children, and I plan to adopt one day, too.
What a beautiful sweater, I love it. I myself am adopted (from birth), as was my brother, so it's something that has touched me tremedously. I am so thankful that my birth mother put me up for adoption, because I now have the most wonderful parents and family ever. Thanks for this great giveaway.
I have 5 adopted cousins - two girls in one famly and 3 boys with diabilities in another. The most wonderful peopel I know are adoptive parents. They were unable to have children of their own, so they became foster parents and have adopted 6 children (all under age 8). They are amazing! Thank you for the chance to win this sweater! It's beautiful! prettybritty425@gmail.com
That sweater is beautiful! You make such beautiful things.
I have a first cousin who was adopted and, of course all my on line adoptive Mama friends and their beautiful babies (including both of yours).
I have not yet been touched by adoption (well, I do have several friends who were adopted into WONDERFUL homes) however, my hubby and I are struggling with infertility and may decide to adopt someday to start our family.
I had several friends growing up who were adopted, but I wasn't really touched by it. I have been touched by a blogger named Jenna who gave her daughter up for adoption, but still maintains and open adoption. I love the idea of an open adoption, even though it can be very difficult for both parties. Thanks for the giveaway, the sweater is adorable.

I want to adopt! I have wanted to adopt since I was a kid myself! I also know several people who were adopted/adopted.
My good friend is trying to get custody of/adopt her nephew and step-neice.
a good friend of mine had been trying to have a baby for around 3 yrs already and they just got the opportunity to adopt a new baby and jumped at the chance - they are so happy being able to share their love and have a family
A friend of mine adopted his daughter and they just make such a great family. I have one of my own but if something happens that I can't produce another on my own, I will definately be looking to adopt.
We attempted to adopt a sibling group, but the social worker didn't want to deal with them out of state, even though the parents were willing.
We have some good friends who had 3 children but had trouble having more. They decided they would love to adopt virtual twins (same age just but not same mother) - with how it worked out they were able to adopt a newborn boy and then a couple months later a newborn girl who happened to be a twin (the birth mother was keeping the other twin). They had their hands full but were so happy. Not long after that they got a call from the adoption agency wondering if they would be willing to take the other twin. They were ecstatic to keep the twins together. So, now they have virtual triplets! They are an amazing family and it's been so fun seeing their family grow!
A woman from my dad's work adopted a baby and we went to visit her. The sweater looks so cute.

One of my good friends was adopted. God bless adoptive parents for their kindness and love.

My husband is adopted. So is his sister. His sister married a man who is adopted too. Together they struggled to conceive until they finally took fertility treatments and had QUINTUPLETS! (5 babies!) Three girls, Two boys. My hubby's 2 best friends are also adopted. So I would say adoption is big in our family. In fact, I have always wanted to adopt. I have four children and hope to adopt two in the future!

I read adoption blogs every single day of my life. I have ALWAYS wanted to adopt but my husband thinks we already have our hands full with 3 soon to be 4 children. I will always feel an empty place in my heart until it is filled with one adoption. My relatives sister also did embryo adoption and was blessed with a beautiful baby boy. It is the gift of life. It doesn't get better than that. Thank you for you having such a generous giveaway! I would LOVE to win and I will come back to read more of your blog!
My email is holladayfam(at)gmail(dot)com.
Thanks again!
My hubby and I have talked about adopting after he gets out of medical school. We are all for it.
I don't personally know anyone who's been adopted, but my husband just recently went under the knife to be "fixed" so we have talked about donating eggs so that others can be blessed with children
I suppose I have been "touched" by adoption in a different way than most. My mom was raised by her mother and adopted by her mother's new husbaned when she was about six. Though he isn't my mom's biological father, he has been a great grandfather to me, never showing any difference between me and his biological grandchildren. Actually, he seems to dote more on my daughter, which would be his great-granddaughter, more than anyone else!

I would really like to adopt some day, though I don't know that we ever will--we already have four on a limited salary. But Ethiopia really touches my heart. Mary at Owlhaven's blog has contributed to that!
To be honest we are considering it...Just waiting to know which direction to go in! Thanks for your blog!

We have some close friends who adopted because it was the only way they could have children. It is amazing to see how they accepted that beautiful boy into their lives and were able to provide him with a life he would not have been able to have.
have a brother that was adopted....and a little one that would look so sweet in that sweater. amy
I think adoption is so amazing. I had hoped to adopt from China, but they closed to single parents. It was a hard dream to give up.

We adopted our daughter from Guatemala this fall! Thanks for the contest!
A couple we know adopted a 25 week old baby boy. They knew that he might have lifelong health problems due to prematurity, but they felt he needed a home and they wanted to be the ones to give it to him.
i actually work in adoptions - i am touched by adoptions everyday - obviously my favorite days are the finalizations!

What a beautiful sweater! We have seven birth children, yet adoption has always been in my heart. However, since we were raising our large family on a single income, I figured we could never afford a foreign or private domestic adoption. However, God's ways are higher than our own! He led us into foster care, and before the end of this year, we should have completed the adoption of our precious twin boys (I had always wanted twins!). They are so wonderful and fit into our family as if they were born there. Why should that be surprising--when God created them, He knew that they we would ultimately be part of our family! Thanks for the giveaway.
We have a beautiful open relationship with our son's birthmother--chosen by her out of a book of profiles at an agency-- and with a little divine intervention--only living 10minutes apart from each other. We are now currently waiting to be found worthy, once again, to add to our family through adoption. I am more than touched by adoption--it pretty much is my life! :0)
I was "touched by adoption" when I was in college. Neighbors of ours have 3 biological sons & adopted a daughter from Russia. While they were overseas picking her up, we watched one of the boys. How lucky we were to be one of the first to meet the little princess once they arrived home! It was amazing to see just how special adoption is.
We are parents of a 4 year old from Russia and one on the way from Guatemala. He'll be about 10 months when he comes home. I always love finding new adoption blogs for my sites.

My hubby's brother & his wife recently adopted two special needs children from China. They've been so good to allow us to live the process with them through their blog!
Thanks for the beautiful giveaway!
I just recently requested information on adoption - we have been having fertility issues for over a year. I also have 2 friends who have adopted. Thanks for the giveaway!

I had a friend whose family did adoptions from S. America. Very inspiring!
Good friends from my small group adopted a gorgeous child, and it has changed their lives a million times over. I am in awe of how happy they are and what a blessing their little one is to us all!
Some friends of ours adopted a teenage mother's baby. They weren't able to have kids, and I hurt for them in their struggles...but now rejoice with them in their prize! ( meg.wilson@gmail.com )
I'd love to win this and give as a gift to my expectant niece.
I know of a couple people who have adopted and it's wonderful to see how their eyes light up when they talk of it. It's the same as a person saying that they are expecting a child naturally or just had a baby naturally. It's L-O-V-E!

I have been touched by adoption from listening to my daughter. She hasn't done it, but is considering it.
Our very best friends have adopted, our music minister, and my brother's sister is adopted. We need more people that are willing to.
There is a couple at church who are in the process of adoption. I never realized how long it took from start to finish! I would actually love to get this sweater for my newborn niece. Thanks for the chance to win!
